Empowering Local Communities, Youth, and Women in Conflict-Affected Areas of Syria

Implementation Period:
11 months (1 February 2026 – 31 December 2026). The project aims to empower local communities across three Syrian governorates—*Rural Damascus, Al-Hasakah, and Daraa*—by supporting youth and women to play an active role in peacebuilding and community resilience. The project focuses on strengthening social cohesion and promoting peacebuilding in conflict-affected areas by empowering marginalized groups, particularly women and youth, through community dialogue sessions and capacity-building programs.
Project activities include:
- Organizing 10 community dialogue sessions.
- Conducting 5 capacity-building workshops on conflict resolution and peacebuilding skills.
- Implementing 3 awareness campaigns or sports events to promote mutual understanding and trust among communities.
The project seeks to reduce social tensions and foster peaceful coexistence by creating safe spaces for dialogue, cooperation, and confidence-building among different community groups.
The project targets 1,500 direct beneficiaries, including youth, women, community leaders, and local residents, and is implemented by Rawafed Al-Khaboor Association in Syria.
By strengthening relationships among community members and promoting dialogue and cooperation, the project contributes to social stability and lays the foundation for sustainable peace and inclusive community development.
